The Independent National Electoral Commission has said the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, lied about the expiration of the permanent voter cards.

The APC national leader and presidential hopeful, is urging Nigerians to register to obtain new Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) because the ones they possess have expired.

“Take one family member, take two family members, knock on all doors and make sure that new registration. Because they may not announce to you on time, the PVC you have has expired,” Tinubu claimed.

According to INEC rules, a PVC can only be replaced if defaced or lost and considers double registration illegal.

“To me, I look at it closely other elections being held; you see that it’s diminishing because those cards is (sic) expired. It is mandatory that you go and register in order to vote and achieve your aspirations,” added the former Lagos governor.
