Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun has expressed shock at the death of Alhaji Sulaimon Aderibigbe Alao, a chieftain of the State’s chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, saying, it is a monumental loss to the state.
Oyetola in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ismail Omipidan on Thursday said he was taken aback by the news of Alh. Alao’s demise as he attained the age of 70, few days back.
The governor who condoled with the family and people of Oniso’s compound, Ede over the death of their patriarch, equally extended his heartfelt condolences to the people of Ede town, Ede Federal constituency and members of the APC in the State over the irreplaceable loss.
He described Alh. Alao as ‘a true progressive’, owing to his commitment and dedication to the growth and development of the APC in Ede and Osun at large.
Oyetola who further described the deceased as a philanthropist per excellence said he would be sorely missed for the elderly roles he played in uniting members of the party in Ede.
The Governor said, “On behalf of my family, the government and people of Osun, I offer our sincere condolences at this most challenging time to the family of Alhaji Sulaimon Aderibigbe Alao and the people of Oniso’s compound of Ede over the death of their patriarch.
“I also extend my heartfelt condolences to the people of Ede town, Ede federal constituency and members of the All Progressives Congress in the State over this irreplaceable loss.
“Baba’s death is a monumental loss to the State. He would be remembered for his phenomenal and outstanding contributions to the party and the State at large.
“I, therefore, urge you all to be consoled by the fact that he lived a remarkable and fulfilled life.
“It is my prayer that Allah grants him Aljanat firdaus and the family the fortitude to bear the loss”, Oyetola said.
