The Independent National Electoral Commission announces February 25th as new date for the 2023 Presidential and National Assembly Elections.
Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections will now hold on 11th March 2023.
Chairman of the Commission, Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu made the announcement on Saturday at a press briefing in Abuja.
This is against the February 18 that was earlier announced by the electoral umpire for the presidential and national assembly elections.
The changes are necessary in view of the newly assented Electoral Act Amendments. President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday assented the bill after it was transmitted to him for the sixth time in the last five years.
