Barring last minutes change, President Muhammadu Buhari will now sign the re-worked Electoral Act Amendment Bill on Friday, February 25.
This is against the belief that the President would today, Wednesday, sign the amended bill.
A source close to the Presidency, who had earlier indicated that the President would assent to the bill on Wednesday, confirmed the new date to Channels Television.
On Tuesday, members of civil societies groups staged a protest in Abuja to call on President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately sign the bill which is an essential component in the electoral reform.
The President has to to March 1st before the 30 days window he has expire.
