Former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Lasun Yusuff on Thursday appeared before the screening committee of the All Progressives Congress in Abuja in preparation for the forthcoming primaries of the party.
Lasun was among the three governorship aspirants of the APC who presented themselves to the screening committee.
Other aspirants are the incumbent Governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola and a former Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti.
An aide of Lasun Yusuff, Wole Oladimeji quoted his Principal to have stated that he’s prepared for the contest, calling on the party leaders to maintain level plain ground for all aspirants.
“Am prepared and ready for APC primary election and election proper in Osun State. Which ever modality they want want to adopt, this time around, we are ready.
“The prayer and the appeal to our party leaders is that there must be a level plain ground for the election to be free and transparent. Osun State people need a break and change and the only way to achieve this is for the politicians to eschew violence and stop the idea of do or die. Osun State belong to all of us.”
Lasun will be running against the wish of the Osun Progressives, a group loyal to former Governor Rauf Aregbesola who have adopted Adeoti as their preferred candidate.
