Akosile and Oyetola

As governorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State approaches, a Chieftain of the party in Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, Engr Olufemi Akosile has started grassroots mobilisation of party members for Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s re-election.

Akosile, whose group – Akosile Progressive Vanguard – had earlier embarked on tours across the constituency to preach the gospel of the government, said the move is to consolidate the achievements recorded in the previous moves.

The APC stalwart, who is an aspirant for the House of Representatives, called on party faithful to move to the wards en masse on February 19 to vote for Governor Oyetola as the party’s candidate, stating that the traditional rulers in the two local government areas have spoken.

He stated this in a statement obtained by InsightMedia in Osogbo on Friday, 11th February.

He commended the Governor for the smooth running of the State in the last three years; he said his achievements have surpassed the expectations of the people.

“The achievements of our Governor in the last three years are commendable and I believe we the people of Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency have shown appreciation during the governor’s tour to our local governments. As the February 19 primary comes closer, all APC members are hereby charged to troop out en masse to cast their votes for Governor Gboyega Oyetola.

“Our traditional rulers have spoken and we must start showing the support to the Governor by ensuring that we work with party leaders under our indefatigable Chairman, Prince Gboyega Famodun to make the Governor our stand bearer again.”

The US-trained engineer also commended party faithful for trooping out in thousands to welcome Oyetola and his entourage on Wednesday, stating that the warm reception showed acceptability and street credibility of the Governor.

“While we at Akosile Progressive Vanguard continue to reiterate our support for the Governor, we wish to state that the acceptability and street credibility of Governor Oyetola are not in doubt in our constituency and we are ever committed to vote him in the coming governorship elections”, Akosile said.
