In recognition of their relentless efforts towards the uplift of Ilobu community, Lagos State chapter of Ilobu-Asake Development Union, IDU, will on Saturday 19th of March honoured some individuals.
The awards which will be presented to them in the Union Distinguished Personality Award 2022, is spur the honourees to do more for the development of the town and her people.
According to Professor Olufemi Saibu, the Chairman of IDU Lagos in a chat with InsightMedia, the programme will also feature lecture on IDU Lagos and Ilobu Development Agenda: How far and what next and it will be delivered by Professor Aderemi Ajala of the University of Ibadan and Mr Raheem Kolapo Sanusi of the Osun State House of Assembly.
The Olobu of Ilobu, Oba Asiru Olatoye Olaniyan will be the Royal Father of the day, while the Aare Musulumi of Ilobu land, Alhaji Azeez Kolade is expected as the Guest of Honour at the programme.
Saibu added that some of the awardees will be honoured posthumously, while others will receive Living Legends awards.
Among those to be honoured posthumously are; Late Alh Assan Arogundade; Late Alh Kola Rufai; Late Mr Bayo Ayanpeju; Late Alh Bashir Sulaimon, Late Alh Jimoh Alawode, among others.
Among the living legends are, Alh Wahab Falowo, Alh Jimoh Adigun, Alh Dauda Adebisi, Maj. Gen Oladipupo Adegbite (rtd), Mr Muibi Oyedokun, Dr Wole Alabi, Alhaja Muyinbat Adebisi, Risikat Alabi Bello, Prof. Rasheed Arogundade, among others.
