The Osun State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party has reaffirmed its readiness to deliver Senator Ademola Adeleke as the Governor of the State in the July 16 elections.
The party made the commitment on Friday as the Akure Division of the Court of Appeal reaffirmed the expiration of an interim injunction granted by an Osun State High Court.
The party in a statement by Areola Ayodeji, its publicity secretary, expressed joy over the development in the appellate court, stating that the coast is now clear for the former lawmaker.
*Today, we are glad to report that the court of appeal in Akure had further cemented the position of our great party in electing Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke as the Governorship Candidate of our party in Osun State. The learned jurists earlier on Friday expressly affirmed that the ex parte injunction of the lower court in Osun State presided over by justice A.A Aderibigbe had lapsed by force of operations of the law. The appellate court states that setting aside the order is mere academic as the said order had outlived it’s lifespan.
“The Appeal Court also granted prayers of our legal team to put other parties on notice for the hearing of substantive matters before it, through publication in a reputable national daily.
“The court also warned counsel to the National Vice Chairman of our party in the Southwest, to desist from parading any other person as candidate of the party or making statements against the position of the court. It gave our legal team express permission to report appropriately, counsel to Hon Adagunodo in case of further affront against the position of the court.
“With this, we are glad to reiterate that all legal encumbrances concerning the election of our candidate at our Special State Congress, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke have been shut aside and that our great party is good to go without recourse to induced distractions.

“We therefore enjoin teeming members of our party and especially the highly expectant people of Osun State not to relent in their support for aspiration of our party and that of our candidate, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke to emerge as the next governor of the state which is the only feasible panacea to the collapsing social economic wellbeing and has inflicted untold hardship on the innocent populace in the state.”
In the meantime, the Ademola Adeleke Campaign Organisation said the ruling at the appellate court means neither the PDP nor the Independent National Electoral Commission is barred from recognising Ademola Adeleke.
“The Court holds that there is nothing to vacate as the said order issued by Justice Aderibigbe had ceased to exist after seven days especially as it was not renewed,” Mallam Olawale Rasheed said in statement on Friday.
“The Court remarked that any lawyer who insisted an interim order has indefinite life span should be reported to the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee.
“As part of the proceedings, the judge further directed that appeal court processes should be served on lawyers to Dotun Babayemi through publication in the Punch Newspaper.
“The proceeding at the Appeal Court today further confirmed that neither the PDP nor the electoral commission is barred from recognising and processing Ademola Adeleke as the governorship candidate of PDP in Osun state.”
