The National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Iyorcha Ayu has landed in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital to meet with Governor Seyi Makinde over the crisis rocking the Osun State chapter of the party.
Ayu, in company of Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has gone into a closed door meeting with Makinde to find lasting solution to the crisis before the July 16, 2022 election.
InsightMedia recalls that the Osun PDP earlier this week held parallel governorship primaries that produced Senator Ademola Adeleke and Prince Dotun Babayemi as candidates of the party in the forthcoming election.
The National Working Committee on Thursday presented the certificate of return to Senator Adeleke as the recognised candidate of the party.
Also, an Osun state high court sitting in Ijebu-jesa has ordered the PDP and the Independent National Electoral Commission to stop recognising Adeleke as the party’s candidate, adding that Babayemi should be recognised as the validly nominated candidate of the PDP.
