The Osun Central Senatorial District Youths Stakeholders Council, has officially made an open call to the Senate Spokesperson, Dr Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru to re-contest in the forthcoming general elections in a bid to continue his quality representation.

“As a group, we are conscious about our society, we are young active citizens and unlike taking laws into our own hands, we have decided to take leadership into our own hands,” the group said during a press briefing in Osogbo on Monday.

Reading the text, Babawale Popoola, the Osun Central Youth Parliament representative, said the lawmaker remains the most accessible and active senator from Osun Central.

“It is worthy of note that Ajibola Basiru is the most active, vibrant, accessible and impactful Senator Osun Central Senatorial District as ever had. This is evident as he is not just the most popular but he has and he is exhibiting his commitment to quality representation to have been the Senator with the highest number of beneficial bills and motions sponsored at the National Assembly.

“We must also confess that we were taken by surprise to see some of his projects across our Senatorial District after an inter-local government areas tour and we hereby declare that the projects are beneficial to we, the constituents and the state at large.

“His developmental interventions of Infrastructure, Education, Health, Agriculture, Tech and ICT, Skills, Vocations and Empowerment across all the local governments of the district, and inclusive qualitative representation at the Nigerian Senate are specifically recognized.

“According to the popular saying, “he who wears the shoes knows where it pains”, SRJ’s primary and secondary education were in the locality and even lectured in the state university before holding public office.

“Distinguished Senator Ajibola Basiru’s laudable and impactful projects in all spheres of life has earned him our vote of Confidence and we hereby unequivocally make an open call to him to come and re-contest as the Senator of Osun Central Senatorial District.”

Ajibola Basiru was elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress in 2019.
