Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has disclosed reasons why he did not pay a courtesy visit to his Edo State counterpart, Governor Godwin Obaseki during his visit to the state to meet with some delegates of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
According to an online news media, News Diary, Wike stated that he was only following the orders from PDP leadership, as he was only sent to meet with their delegates in Edo State not the governor.
Wike said, “I did not visit Governor Godwin Obaseki because that was not where the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) sent me.
“They sent me to meet the delegates (not the Governor) concerning how our party will win the 2023 presidential election.
“It is not written anywhere that I must go through the Governor before seeing the party delegates,” he said. (Daily Independent)
