The Candidate of the Accord Party in the forthcoming governorship elections in Osun State, Dr Akin Ogunbiyi has stated that he has never sat one-on-one with the All Progressives Congress Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his life.
Ogunbiyi said political opponents in his former party, the People’s Democratic Party were behind the insinuation that he was planted by Tinubu as mole within the party.
The Insurance guru made this known on Wednesday while featuring as guest in this month edition of The Frontliners, organized by the Association of Veteran Journalists, Osun State chapter, held in Osogbo.
“I’m Akinade Ogunbiyi. I have never sat one-on-one with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in my life. I respect his for what he has done for Yoruba race but I can’t be his mole at any party. I’m a man of my own. It’s those in my former party, PDP that instigated that to weaken me.” He said.
Speaking on his defection from the PDP, Ogunbiyi accused the leadership of the PDP of not having interest of Osun at hearts but are only after “their pockets”.
Ogunbiyi said, “we had known that Uche Secondus would go. But when he finally left, Iyorcha Ayu became worse. The day I met Ayu. He told that he has no interest in Osun matter and not ready to listen to anyone. That’s when I decided to leave the party.”
