Comrade Abiodun Ologunde, a former associate of the former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Lasun Yusuff has described dumping Lasun as the most gracious thing to do for him.
Ologunde officially defected to the People’s Democratic Party with former aides of Lasun and several others on Saturday in Ilobu, Irepodun local government area of Osun State.
Lasun Yusuff is the governorship candidate of the Labour Party having defected from the All Progressives Congress, shortly after losing APC primaries where he came distant third behind Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and Alhaji Moshood Adeoti.
Speaking with InsightMedia on Sunday, Ologunde said he was left with no option after he realised that his presence in the team of Lasun is no longer relevant.
“I have to dump him because I realised that my presence in his camp is no longer relevant, my opinions are not considered any longer and my objectivity was being misconstrued, so, leaving him is the most gracious.”
When asked what informed choice of PDP, the one-time President of the Ilobu National Student Union said, “The democratic nature of the PDP and the human face of Adeleke family are the major factor.”
With the defection of Ologunde and others, the team of Lasun in Ilobu z his stronghold has further depleted.
