Members of the All Progressives Congress in Ife North State Constituency on Tuesday morning stormed the residence of the State Chairman, Prince Gboyega Famodun to protest alleged exclusion of the Chief whip of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Tunde Olatunji on the list of the winners of the primaries.

The party faithful demanded that the “stolen mandate of Olatunji” should be restored to him in the spirit of justice, stating that he won the last week party primary in the area.

Addressing the newsmen during the protest in Osogbo, one of the protesters, Kazeem Asafa said the protest is to call on the party leadership in the State to ensure that Olatunji is given the party’s ticket.

Asafa accused the Olatunji’s opponent, Mr Awotidoye, who is the incumbent APC Chairman in Ife North, of using his influence to doctor the results of the primary.

All we want the party leadership to do is to give us our mandate, to give the mandate to Tunde Olatunji. Because it the proper thing is not done and eventually that party Chairman that contested against Olatunji is given the ticket, the opposition can capitalise on that and win the seat from the backdoor.

“The man that was rumoured to be the winner is still the local party chairman in Ife North and he used his influence todoctor the results of the primaries in his favour.”

Another member of the party, Kolawole Afolabi said the victory of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola in the July 16 governorship election will be threatened if the needful is done.

“Governor Oyetola and Prince Famodun should ensure the needful is done as soon as possible as injustice to the people of Ife North may threaten the reelection of the Governor. We’re all working towards the reelection of our performing Governor and we believe he would win come July 16.

“But the Governor must not continue to listen to some individuals who are only selfish. The interest of the majority is in Hon Olatunji.”
