Many supporters of the All Progressives Congress and journalists were injured on Monday when suspected political thugs launched attack on the campaign train of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.
Oyetola was in Gbongan to seek voters’ support for his reelection bid on Monday.
The hoodlum laid siege along Arapajo area of Gbongan, the headquarters of Ayedade Local Government Area close to the venue where APC was holding a campaign rally.
After the campaign programme, the thugs attacked the campaign vehicles, including a bus of Nigeria Union of Journalists, correspondent chapel.
The political thugs were armed with axes, clubs and stones.
The area was unpassable for several minutes as thi before the intervention of the security agents.
Chairman of the Correspondent Chapel of the Osun NUJ, Comrade Shina Abubakar told InsightMedia that some of his members were injured as the hoodlums broke the windscreen.
