Candidate of the All Progressives Congress Irepodun/Olorunda/Orolu/Osogbo federal constituency, Hon. (Mrs) Abosede Kasumu Ogo-Oluwakitan on Monday launched the first edition of Ogo-Oluwakitan KAS Foundation Empowerment scheme.
The foundation, which is aimed at catering for the welfare and advancement of widows, aged people and people with disabilities at the grassroots, was launched in Ifon-Osun, Orolu local government area of the State.
The empowerment programme was for thousands of beneficiaries across different communities in the area.
In her remarks, Abosede Ogoluwakitan, said her loyalty remains 100 percent to the people of Ifon-Osun, stating that the KASS Ogo-Oluwakitan Foundation will ensure better lives for rural persons.
The House of Representatives hopeful said, “I was born and bred in Orolu, and I have spent 10years in the foreign country. Having learnt so much about how the government takes care of their citizens, I’m motivated to start my foundation. This foundation’s (nomination) form will enable all beneficiaries to have access to some token of money as grants to boost their businesses.
“The best way to reach out to people is what we’re doing now. No matter how small, it’s something. Our old parents can no longer work. The widows and then disabilities, there’s limitation to what they can do. So this is the easiest way for me to put smiles on their faces and give back to them.” She added.
She encouraged all participants of the program to continue supporting Governor Adegboyega Oyetola “in his quest to bring better lives to the people of Osun and take our State to an enviable heights.
” My foundation is to support my governor on the good work he has been doing, and if people want more they should re-elect Governor Adegboyega Oyetola”. She advised
“Oyetola has done a lot of works in 4years, let’s vote for him so that he can continue the good works for all and sundry in the State.”, She said.
Honourable Adekunle Benson, who is the chairman of Orolu Local government council, during his address appreciated Hon (Mrs ) Abosede Ogoluwakitan for the empowerment program.
He then beseech every participant and beneficiaries to re-elect Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, so that Abosede can have opportunities to represent them again.
Speaking with InsightMedia, a beneficiary, Mrs Felicia Oyedokun, secretary of the Akanda Group in the LGA, showered praises on Ogo-Oluwakitan for the empowerment program.
She promised to ensure all persons with disabilities in Orolu local government vote for Oyetola and Ogo-Oluwakitan.
“Oyetola will win this election and you’ll also be chosen to represent us again, on behalf of all Akandas, we thank you”, Oyedokun said.
No fewer than 2000 packs of food materials were distributed to widows, aged, people with disabilities, vulnerable and less privileged who benefitted from the empowerment programme.
