No fewer than five persons were reportedly injured as some people allegedly in the convoy of Senator Ademola Adeleke attacked the Ede South secretariat of the All Progressives Congress.

The attack which happened on Thursday in Ede, led to vandalisation of vehicle and other properties at the secretariat of the APC in the town.

Speaking with a InsightMedia, an APC member who witnessed the attack, Tajudeen Abiola said they (APC members) were at their party secretariat when some persons in the train of the PDP campaign launched attack on them.

He said, “we were at our party secretariat when the Ademola Adeleke and his team were moving. They stopped and started singing different songs at our party secretariat.

“Later some guys descended on us and started vandalising our secretariat. Five members of our party were injured during the attack. It was an unprovoked attack on us.”

Abiola, who is the admin officer of the APC in the local government, identified two of those injured as Oluogun Kazeem and Bakare Lateef.

“In his reaction, the Director of campaign of the Osun PDP, Oladele Bamiji described the allegations against against them as lies. He said the APC has stationed some thugs at their secretariat who threw stones at the moving convoy.

Bamiji said the campaign of Ademola Adeleke has been peaceful and at no time has anyone being attacked.

“It’s a lie. What happened was that after the visit to the Palace of Timi of Ede, the train was moving to the venue of the campaign and at the APC secretariat, some hoodlums positioned started throwing stones at us.

“Our people’s felt insulted and people around reacted. That’s what happened. No PDP attacked.”
