Dr. Adeleke Mamora, Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI), stated that the Federal Government would address health professionals’ working conditions in Nigeria.
A delegation from the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) led by President Dr Uche Ojinmah paid him a visit in Abuja on Thursday.
Mamora stated that the government would try to improve the working conditions and pay of health professionals, particularly medical doctors.
He stated that the exodus of medical people, notably doctors, to foreign countries must be halted.
He claims that the government will do everything possible to stem the tide of emigrating medical doctors.
Mamora promised to safeguard doctors’ and health professionals’ interests, citing their strategic value to humanity.
He also asked the association to maintain high levels of integrity and conduct in accordance with the profession’s pledge.
Earlier, Dr. Ojinmah, President of the NMA, requested that the minister discuss some of the association’s issues, such as working conditions, tools, and salary, at the FEC meeting on their behalf.
