As parts of its bid to ensure sanity in Osun media space, Insight Initiative For Community and Social Development, an arm of Insight Multi-Links Media on Thursday, August 18, 2022, organised a training session for online news publishers.
The workshop, which was held its office, was aimed at improving the financial capacity of the online media firms.
The 3-hour training session saw online news publishers taken through the Rudiments of the Search Engine Optimisation and analytics.
Speaking earlier at the seminar, the Executive Director of the IICSD, Mr Ismahil Adejare Tiamiyu said the initiative is out to ensure that journalists have financial independence which will I’m turn make the brown-envelope journalism unattractive to them.
“One of the thematic areas of our organization is Media. As you know I’m a Media Practitioner and I believe we must continue to improve that sector of our society because of the crucial roles they play in our societal development,” Tiamiyu said.
“This seminar is to rejig the financial capacity of online media practitioners. We believe this will make journalists to focus more on issues affecting the masses without being enticed by brown envelope.
“Our resource persons shall be taking us through all the rudiments of the SEO, google analytics and other relevant tools that will boost our income as online news publishers.”
Members of the Osun Online Media Practitioners Association appreciated the organization for its passion to improve the media space in Osun through trainings for the practitioners.
