Some of the Boko Haram suspects that escaped during Kuje jailbreak

A rearrested escapee from the Kuje jailbreak of July 5, 2022, Taofeeq Alao has narrated that members of Boko Haram in the facility were been given special treatment in deterrent to the others who are also serving jail terms.

Alao, who was arrested by operatives of Force Intelligence Bureau, Intelligence Response Team (FIB/IRT) led by its Commander, DCP Olatunji Disu, made the narration while being paraded by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.

According to Adejobi, others fleeing inmates arrested include Abdulrazak Isah m 27 from Ondo State residing in Tafa Local Council Area of Kaduna State and Danjuma Tanko m 50.

“In his confessional statement, he told the Police team that he actually killed the alien and was 17 years old when he was sentenced to life in jail even as a minor at the time of the incident.

“He also told the Police team that his escape from the prison facility was due to the special treatment in terms of feeding and accommodation given to some other prison inmates like Boko Haram detainees while the authorities starve other inmates.

“He also stated that he had served ten years in the prison facility from the time of his imprisonment till the time of the jailbreak at the midnight of July 5, 2022,” he added.

He assured that all the suspects still undergoing investigation by the Police would be charged to court for appropriate sanctions. (Nigerian Tribune)
