The Osun state university (UNIOSUN) will be conferring no fewer than 45 students with first class degrees across different colleges of institution at the forthcoming 2022 convocation.

The Vice chancellor of the University, Prof. Clement Adebooye, revealed this at the convocation press conference held at the University main campus in Osogbo, on Monday.

“Out of 2033 graduands in the year 2022, 1898 graduands will be conferred with first degree. While 45 of them come out with first class, 561 students will bag second class upper degree and 135 students are Post graduate, across the colleges of the university in the forth coming 2022 convocation ceremonies.” Adebooye stated.

While speaking on the discipline of the institution, the VC narrated that over the years, the school has taught the students to have sense of belonging and also provide a room for students to relate with their leaders, to see them as partners in progress with the aid of the directorate student’s affairs which is headed by the Dean of students affairs.

Prof. Adebooye also stated that “the university has organized a programme named ‘Teaching Assistance ‘ for ED students who are put under special arrangements.

“It’s a competitive programme where students compete for positions and Grants are being awarded to them with a payment of N75,000 per month until the completion of their PhD programme, whereas, some would be employed.

UNIOSUN 11th convocation ceremony has commenced with the press conference on Monday and the 10-day long activities will climax with conferment of degrees on graduands on Wednesday, September 21 at the main campus in Osogbo.
