Operatives of Amotekun in Osogbo has arrested three suspects for stealing goats and motorcycles in Ibadan,and were detained at the Amotekun ,Osogbo division command.

The field commander of the Osun Amotekun , Comrade Amitolu Shittu,while parading the suspects on Tuesday, 6th  September 2022 at the division command said the thieves were apprehended at Ibadan expressway while on operation.

Shittu said the corps have being on vigilance ever since reports of stolen goods,banditry have been made,they have been on stakeout to apprehend the perpetrators.

He said in order to achieve a well balanced and accurate arrest, severe investigation and stakeout have been made ,and confession by the suspects were carried out.

While in a parade with the pressmen, he said the latest arrest was the apprehending of two suspects who stole 18 goats from different locations and a man who stole 5 motorcycles.

A 40 year old man,who was one of the suspects, was arrested for stealing goats,said he used to be a driver, so his friend introduced him to the deal.

“For every delivery we do,we get nothing less than 50,000(fifty thousand naira),we’ve stolen 15,10, and the last one we stole was 18 goats when we got caught by the Amotekun.
In an interview with our newsmen, he said they take the goats to lagos, ketu precisely to sell it to his aunt, whom was referred to as “Alhaja” or “mamae”

The other suspect who was arrested , Wale Samuel, said after his colleague has done his work for the day,he takes over the driving, his friend picks up the goats while he drives.

“We start our operation around 5am in the morning before cars starts moving,so we pick up the goats while they are still sleeping on the roadside and we take them to deliver to his aunt in Lagos.

He said the Suspects will be handed over to the appropriate security forces,and thorough investigation will be conducted before handling the recovered properties to their respective owners.

Shittu advised the public to be vigilant, also they should allow them to do thier work in order to have a crime free environment and city.
