The Chief Imam of Ilobu land, Sheikh Mohammadu-l-Jamiu Bello is dead.
The Grand Imam died on Saturday evening after a brief illness.
Sheikh Bello became Grand Imam of Ilobu in the year 2005 and his tenure has witnessed several transformations in the administration of the Mosque and the leadership of the Muslim community in the ancient town.
He succeeded Imam Tohir Ojawuro, who died late 2004.
He will be buried on Sunday morning at his residence in Ilobu.
