An Abuja big boy who became popular by flaunting money on social media and encouraging his followers to “hustle” has been exposed as a kidnap kingpin terrorising the oil-rich state of Bayelsa State in the Niger Delta.
Traced and nabbed by a crack police squad in Abuja, the Nigerian capital, the suspect identified as John Lyon with nickname ‘Lion’ is seen weeping profusely and begging for mercy as he is handcuffed and made to knell down on the street.
He claimed to have kidnapped only two people, begging to be released for the sake of his young family as his wife just had a baby.
However, a man in the video who claimed to be one of Lion’s victims, contradicted the suspect, insisting that he has kidnapped more than two people. The man narrated how Lion allegedly kidnapped him and threatened to kill him if he did not part with a hefty ransom.
The police has yet to release a statement on the successful operation that led to the arrest of the ‘Lion’ of the kidnap jungle.
A review of Lion’s Twitter account “John Lyon” revealed that he has been a motivational speaker on the social media, asking people to hustle.
