Qatar 2022 has clarified some very practical details for fans who want to go to the tournament

World Cup: FIFA and Qatar 2022 organizers reach an agreements regarding beer consumption

The World Cup is coming up and it’ll be quite a different World Cup, since it’s taking place in Qatar and also coming up in November and December, ahead of the tournament, the organisers have clarified some important points for those who want to travel to watch matches in Qatar

1. The Hayya
The so-called Hayya is the passport that will be necessary and essential to enter Qatar from November.
It replaces any visa and is the document that will allow entry into the country for the world cup tournament

It can only obtained if you have bought a ticket for a match, while the process is only completed when you enter your hotel reservation.

In other words, you need a ticket and a hotel reservation to complete the Hayya and enter the country. Children of under age will not need the Hayya requirement to enter the country and the stadiums.

2. Alcohol
Alcohol may be consumed, but this is restricted to several areas and times. In the 40,000-person fan zone around Doha Bay, alcohol will be sold from 18:30 to 01:00.
Outside the stadiums, alcohol will be sold three hours before each match and up to one hour after. Then, inside the stadiums, non-alcoholic beer will be sold.

It will also be possible to drink alcohol in the international hotels, but there will be no massive sale of alcohol on the streets and no drinking outside the designated venues.
Bringing alcohol into the country will be strictly forbidden, and subject to penalties.

3. Hotels in Qatar
Qatar 2022 offers official accommodation, through its platforms, for 80 euros per night.

Only privately owned accommodation will be available for cheaper than that, which, given the size of the country, won’t be easy to find. It is already almost impossible to find accommodation at that price of 80 euros and, without a reservation, you don’t get the Hayya and you can’t enter the country.

4. Tickets for World Cup games
If someone wants to come to Qatar and doesn’t have tickets yet, there are still three options to get them.

At the end of September, through the FIFA website, the last mass sale window opens.

After that, there will only be official resale through official channels and, finally, days before the matches, there will be a remainder of single tickets that will be resold by their holders.

Three million tickets will be sold and 2.4 million have already been allocated. The final, the opening match and Mexico vs Argentina are the three most in-demand fixtures as at now.

All Hayya holders will have access to free public transport. Remember that the eight stadia, which are 70 kilometres apart, are connected by metro, except for Al Bayt.
