In equipping young talents, entrepreneurs, and innovators with the skills and network to succeed in the world of business and leadership, the Hope Innovators Boot Conference (HIBC), in collaboration with Reboot Creative Hub in partnership with the Osun State University and Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) , will be holding a three-day conference for youths.
Professor Odunayo Adebooye, while addressing newsmen and stakeholders at joint press conference on the UNIOSUN campus, said the aim of the conference is discourage the act of internet fraud among our youths and to promote the pursuit of livelihood in the most sane, most ethically conscious and most corruption-free ways.
“This conference is put in place to discourage the act of internet fraud among our youths and to promote the pursuit of livelihood in the most sane, most ethically conscious and most corruption-free ways. This is coming against the backdrop of the ever-rising spate of illicit, illegitimate and most unacceptable ways of making money that range from internet fraud to cyber-crime. corporate data hacking all other forms of deceitful activities among our teeming youths”.
Acknowledging the importance of youths in the society, Adebooye said “the youths of any nation constitute a major asset of such nations. Our youths have great potentials, and they are capable of contributing most significantly to our national development if their potentials are well harnessed”.
“To properly harness these potentials, our youths need sound education. They need proper mentoring, and they need an overall enabling environment for them to thrive. To ensure this kind of environment, our legislative, regulatory and enforcement frameworks must to provide our youths with sound education that they need to succeed and be globally competitive”,he stated.
“It is a very nice initiative for students to have operational partnerships with our security and enforcement agencies. We are therefore happy once again to have an Officer of ICPC here with us from whom our students can tap some knowledge”.
”This is why it is imperative for youths to develop themselves and endeavour to learn continuously outside the corridors of tertiary institutions. For UNIOSUN students, our policy is to award duo certificates: one in subject-matter of focus: and the other, in entrepreneurship education. This makes them more employable and job creators”.
