As part of it’s support and addition of value to people’s lives, a Non Governmental organization in Osun State, Emi Kola Afolabi Foundation on Tuesday empowered no fewer than 25 widows with tools to help them secure a source of income and means of livelihood.

Founders of the organization, Prince James Adekola Afolabi and Chief Mrs Lucy Emiola Afolabi while speaking at the distribution of the equipment, urged wealthy Nigerians to always remember less privileged in their respective areas.

Prince James Adekola Afolabi said “The foundation was created on the 24th of April 2006, to celebrate his 70th birthdays with his wife, Chief (Mrs) Lucy Afolabi and since then, they had continued to lift lives out of poverty by creating means of livelihood for them.

He said the foundation has a fund raising account from his children and other people to donate money so his legacy would continue.

” Since the establishment of the EKA foundation , we have been helping people in so many way like giving students scholarship and empowering people with means of livelihood to sustain them.

“The foundation has been in existence for over 16 years, our children and their friends open a fund raising account for it. They donate large amount of money which we used to buy the grinding machines distributed today to the 15 widows.”

Prince Afolabi also called on well meaning individuals to support the project of his foundation. He said the foundation has a lot of great programmes for humanity.

He urged the beneficiaries to utilize the equipment and advised his fellow NGOs to widen their horizons in order to reach out to more people in their State.

 

Rev. Joseph Faniran graced the event with prayers said giving is an act of Christianity just as Jesus Christ taught his Fellowers and he urged others to emulate Prince and Chief Mrs Afolabi

“I call upon bouyant Nigerian to use their wealth to help the need because that wealth cannot follow them to the grave” he said.

One of the beneficiaries who spoke with Insight Crew, Mrs Oni Omolola appreciated the kind gesture of Prince and Mrs Afolabi.

Mrs Omolola said “I’m privileged to be among those who received the grinding machine, I believe as they give to help the less privileged in the society. She said the equipment will help her shore up her finances and enhances better life for her family.

She pray the Lord will enrich them and continue to prosper their foundation.
