It was another round of commissioning of projects between Tuesday and Wednesday as the Osun Community Social Development Agency (CSDA), inaugurated school laboratories, public toilets, newly renovated classrooms and other micro projects for rural dwellers in the State.
The projects were executed with partnership of the communities, Osun State government and the World Bank under the Osun COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (Osun-CARES).
InsightMedia recalls that the commissioning of projects by Governor Adegboyega Oyetola started last week in Iwo and Ola-Oluwa local government areas of the State.
The last leg of commissioning took the Governor’s team led by the Commissioner for Rural Development and Community Affairs, Mr Segun Olanibi to Osun central and east Senatorial districts on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Some of the projects commissioned are sited Isale Oyo, Oke Baale, Boluwaduro, and Awosuru, Iragbiji communities all in Osogbo and Boripe local government areas.
Speaking on behalf of the Governor, the Commissioner for Rural Development and Community Affairs, Mr Segun Olanibi said, the project commissioning is another milestone achievement in the quest of the government to build a vibrant state where social infrastructures are within the reach of every citizen and resident of the state.

He added that the projects will help in alleviating poverty in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has left in its trail economic hardship, and health and educational challenges among others.
“What we are witnessing today is a pointer to the fact that broad-based growth is still possible with the right mix of policies and structural reforms.
“Government can unleash growth that is broadly shared amongst all segments of society which is the hallmark of Community Driven Development (CDD) approach, an approach which OSUN CSDA uses in the emergence and implementation of the priority project of the benefitting communities.
“I, therefore, appreciate OSUN CSDA which is an agency of the state government for the good work the agency is doing in ensuring that the dividend of democracy reaches the grassroots. I also thank the World Bank for prompt intervention.
“I congratulate the beneficiaries and charge you to put the projects to maximum use and ensure maintenance and sustainability”.
The Special Adviser to the Governor, Engr. Mumini Olabamiji, in the same vein, thanked the Osun CSDA for its diligent work.
Adekunle during his speech congratulated the beneficiaries of the projects and also urged them to utilize and maintain them well.
In her address, the General Manager of Osun CSDA, Mrs Funmi Abokede has assured that more communities in the State would get more developmental projects that would transform the lives of rural dwellers in the state.
Abokede noted that with the remarkable support that the agency enjoys from the state government under the able leadership of Governor Oyetola as well as international agencies, more communities would be able to get more projects that would speedy development in those areas.
On of the students that benefitted from the laboratory project, Lateefat Lawal said the students in the school have been yearning for an equiped science laboratory for their practicals.
She said “in the past, we have not been performing well because we had no laboratory to hold practicals. This will now boost us and I believe our next exam will be better.”
