Following clashes over executive orders, Governor Ademola Adeleke on Tuesday met with the Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly, Timothy Owoeye to discuss issues relating development of the state.
Adeleke according to a statement by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed commended the excellent partnership between the two arms of government.
The meeting was held at the Governor’s country home with top leaders on both sides of the government in attendance.
Speaking at the meeting, the governor described the legislature as a critical arm of government which plays important role in the efforts to deliver on good governance, accountability and leadership transparency.
Describing himself as a man with passion for the legislature, the Governor restated his readiness to work closely with the legislature to deliver on his five point agenda and take Osun state to greater height.
Confirming the meeting, Owoeye in a tweet said, “Earlier today, I met with the Governor of our dear State, Senator Ademola Adeleke @AAdeleke_01, matters of State importance were discussed.”
InsightMedia recalled that the legislature has kicked against the renaming of the State from State of Osun to Osun State as announced by Adeleke via an executive order on Sunday.
The parliament has also advised the executive to allow the issues surrounding the administration of local government be decided by the court of appeal.
