As Christmas season is described as the season of giving, a non-governmental organization in Osun State Emi-Kola Afolabi Foundation E.K.A has called on well meaning individuals to reach out to the less privileged in the society to ensure the season is better for them.
The foundation made this call on Tuesday when it reached out to the less privileged, communities, correctional centres and orphanage homes in Osogbo as part of its Christmas season outreach and to put smiles on their faces.
The Co-Founders of the NGO, Prince James Adekola Afolabi and Chief Mrs Lucy Emiola Afolabi, said the foundation which was formed about 16 years ago and has its core motive of reaching to less privileged, widows, giving scholarship to students and medical outreach to the needy.
The Afolabis added that sharing is the joy of Christmas as they both urged the privilege people to reach out to the less privileged in the society.
“Sharing is a joy of Christmas and whatever you share multiplies. By sharing, life would be more pleasant for us” Afolabi said.
The Afolabis urged the beneficiaries to share the joy with others, they should not keep it to themselves.
A member of the E.K.A Foundation, Dr. Mrs Bola Adeniji also urged people who have power to give, to expend immensely for the betterment of those who have nothing the bank on during festive periods.
“You don’t have to be financial buoyant before you give others. One must have the spirit because, you earns more by giving others” Adeniji said.
Amira Federation of Muslims Women’s Associations, FOMWAN Alhaji Sadiat Oladapo appreciated the Afolabi family for their kind gesture and she prayed God will grant them long lives.
She urged other beneficiaries to used it for the main purpose, stating that the item given to them is a trust.
“It’s a good example for people to emulated their ways of life. The society will be a better place for us, nothing is too big or small ” she said.
Rev. Sister Mary Akinlotan, who represents Little Angle, appreciate EKA Foundation for putting smile in the faces of others during this Christmas and She prayed God continue to bless the Founders.
