The Federal Government filed a lawsuit in Abuja’s Federal High Court in an effort to extradite suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police DCP Abba Kyari to the United States of America. The Federal High Court will issue its ruling today. Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Court’s Abuja division will deliver the verdict that will determine the fate of the suspended Police Chief. The Attorney General of the Federation, AGF, acting on behalf of the Federal Government, filed the extradition charges against Kyari in order to facilitate his extradition to the United States of America to answer fraud allegations. The notice of judgment in the suit was sighted by newsmen, indicating that it will be delivered this morning, Monday, August 29, 2022, with the notice served on the Federal Government and Abba Kyari’s legal team. Abass Ramon, aka Hushpuppi, an internet fraudster in America, had implicated Kyari in a $1.1 million wire fraud, prompting the American government to request Kyari’s extradition to explain his side of the story. In April 2021, a jury in America, with the approval of the US District Court, filed an indictment against Kyari, demanding that he stand trial for conspiracy to commit wire fraud, money laundering, and identity theft.
