*Says our Constituency has suffered enough
A renowned entrepreneur and seasoned mobiliser, Otunba Segun Odukunle, has declared his intention to contest the House of Representatives seat of Ifelodun/Boripe/Odo-Otin Federal Constituency of Osun State, under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking through a press release made available to InsightMedia by his media office shortly after he picked the Expression of Interest Form of the PDP, Odukunle described himself as a representative of a new generation of young politicians, who are not just seasoned technocrats, but empathetic politicians, willing to put the people first.
He said “I come from a background of service to our people and I have invested years of my personal efforts into the development of the people and the towns and villages that make up our Federal constituency.”
Speaking about the present state of affairs in the constituency, he said “I ask you, our dear people of Ifelodun/Boripe/Odo-Otin Federal Constituency, how well our constituency has fared in recent years, with the presence of the present Representative in the National Assembly. We do not have to think too far, before we see clearly that our Federal Constituency is getting a poor deal and must now be better represented.”
“It appears that the present occupant of the office has grown tired and weary, probably due to advancing age and unwillingness to serve. I am ready and willing to take over from him and inject the vigour of youth into the serious business of representing our constituency. We have suffered enough and must now get the kind of quality representation that I have shown capacity to deliver”, he continued.
Further stating his resolve to contest and win the house of representatives election, Odukunle stated that “today, I have picked up the PDP nomination form, signaling my readiness to contest and win the House of Representatives ticket for Ifelodun/Boripe/Odo-Otin Federal Constituency. In the coming days, I shall be unveiling my plans, programmes and antecedents to show my readiness to deliver quality representation.”
He appealed to electorates in the Federal Constituency, to support his aspiration and help him deliver his good programmes, plans and ideas for the upliftment of the constituency. He said “I believe in your desire for quality representation. I believe that in your yearning for quality representation, there also is resolve, to massively support a young change maker like me, who has shown in the past and is showing in the present, that he is not just capable, but he is willing.”
“I am running on the strength of my belief that I have your support and the backing of God. I have absolute assurance that with you, the people and leaders of our constituency on my side, with God backing us up, victory is assured”, he concluded.
