Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu has been reelected and sworn in as the Chairman for Nigeria Union of Journalists, Osun State Council.

The election which held at the state council secretariat also produced Adeyemi Aboderin as the State Secretary, Mayowa Fagbohungbe: Assistant Secretary, Ademola Lawal: Treasurer and Saheed Adegboye as Auditor.

Addressing the new executives before the swearing-in, the National Vice President, Comrade Aderonke Aramide Samo congratulated the EXCOs and urged them to serve the union sincerely and effectively.

She charged the Wasiu Ajadosu-led EXCOs to make good use of the ethos and ethics of the profession, ensure professionalism as well as see to the overall welfare of members, while hinging on accountability to the national body of the Union.

In his remarks, the Osun Chairman NUJ Electoral Committee, Comrade AbdulRaheem Adekilekun appreciated the union for the opportunity to serve as umpire that ushered in the new executives.

While congratulating the participants in the Osun NUJ election, he described the transition as a tasking one that involved screening and clearance of the national body, said Osun NUJECO was not influenced by anyone in the process.

At the swearing in conducted by legal luminary in the profession, Barrister Oyesiku Adelu and Barrister Mrs Olubukola Aderibigbe, Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu in his acceptance speech after the swearing-in promised to uphold the Ethics of the profession.

Listing his achievements during his first spell, Ajadosu said he was able to resuscitate International Institute of Journalism IIJ, construct business blocks at the Secretariat, acquire Computer systems among others.

He pointed out that promotion of developmental project for the union is his priority for the present tenure.

He commended members of the union for supporting his first tenure and urged them for impactful contribution in his new term in office, he stressed that the union will not fail in the discharge of his objectives to Osun council and populace.

The elective office which ushered in Wasiu Ajadosu and his executives is for a period of 3-years.

Similarly, By-election will be held for the post of Vice Chairman and Financial Secretary at a later date.
