Folarin Falana, a Nigerian rapper and activist who goes by the name Falz, has taken to social media to encourage Nigerian youths to vote in the upcoming presidential election on Saturday. Falz posted a video on his Instagram page, urging Nigerians not to make excuses for not voting and stressing that the time has come for young people to take charge of their future.
In the video, Falz can be seen holding up his permanent voter’s card (PVC) and encouraging viewers to do the same. He emphasized that the notion that one’s vote doesn’t count is unacceptable and urged Nigerians to vote against bad leadership.
Falz also noted that the Labour Party movement has grown to become a formidable third force within a short time, and urged Nigerians to focus on the goal of choosing who rules them, rather than listening to cynics and those who are satisfied with the status quo.
The presidential election will feature four main contenders: the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Labour Party (LP), and the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP). Falz’s message to the youth is clear: it’s time to vote and take control of their future.
