In order to fulfill the Goal three of the Sustainable Development Goals which emphasizes on the need for government to prioritize health care and wellness of its people, Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke has continued the Imole free medical and surgical treatments all over the Federal Constituencies in Osun State.

The outreach was on Wednesday birthed at the State Hospital in Ila, covering the Boluwaduro, Ifedayo, Ila federal constituency.

Over 2000 persons who have health issues,regarding medical and surgical operations that have not been able to get access to good health due to finances and other issues came in from the three local government areas.

Speaking with InsightMedia, the chairman of the Imole Free Medical and surgical outreach, Professor Peter Babatunde Olaitan appreciated the Governor for the Initiative, stating that the outreach was what people had been waiting for.

“This initiative that the Governor has started is a good programme, people who have been waiting for opportunities to get treated medically but have been financially incapacitated or due to another reason, will now be given opportunities to get treated”.

“We have been receiving people since this initiative started this morning, and they are been treated,surgeries are going on, drugs are been given, eye glasses are being given and medical treatments are also going on across the wards in the hospital “.

The Head of the medical outreach, Dr Mrs Adefila applauded the Governor for the good thoughts he has towards his people. She also added that it was beneficial to those that have cut off from the health care system.

“We appreciate the Governor for this work, this would be beneficial to those that have been cut off from the health care system, or can’t afford treatment or be treated because of finances, with this outreach they have opportunities to get treated”.

“We have the medical, surgical and opthalmology treatment for all persons who come in here during this outreach, we have top notch medical personnel who are well grounded in thier specialities and total medical attention will be given to all persons”.

One of the beneficiaries who spoke with InsightMedia, appreciated the Governor this opportunity, stating that she came with eye disease. She told Insight Media that she has been treated, given drugs and glasses for her to see better.

InsightMedia also learnt that over 18,000 persons from the nine Federal constituencies, are projected to benefit from the Imole Free Medical and surgical treatment, which will last till April this year.
