Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Umana Umana, wins polling unit for APC candidate Bola Tinubu in Akwa Ibom State

The results of Saturday’s presidential election in Nigeria are starting to come in, and it seems the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Umana Umana, has won his polling unit for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Tinubu.

According to the latest reports, the APC scored 140 out of the 217 valid votes in Polling Unit 001 (Secondary School, Ndiya Usung Inyang) in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came second with 49 votes, followed by the Labour Party with 22 votes. The New Nigeria Peoples Party scored four votes, while the Young Progressives Party had two votes.

Mr. Umana and his wife, Florence, were among those who cast their ballots at the unit on Saturday. Results of the presidential election are still being collated inwards and local governments across Nigeria by the electoral commission, INEC.

Nigerians went to the polls on Saturday to elect a new president and members of parliament. However, voting is still ongoing in some areas of the country today.

The election has been closely watched both nationally and internationally, with concerns raised about potential violence and electoral malpractice. Security measures have been put in place to prevent any unrest, and INEC has assured voters that the election will be free, fair, and credible.

As the results continue to come in, all eyes are on the electoral commission to ensure that the will of the people is reflected in the outcome.
