Yesterday, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State revealed that he may reconsider the dismissal of 1,500 teachers who were hired by his predecessor. During a press conference at the Executive Lounge of the Governor’s Office in Osogbo, he stated that the matter would be examined by his administration’s review committee, along with other issues, after the election period.

Governor Adeleke stressed his commitment to upholding the rule of law and due process, stating that he would base his decision on whether or not the proper procedures were followed. He emphasized that he would not let sentiment influence his decision-making process.

The governor explained that he had established several committees upon taking office, and that these committees had already submitted their reports. He had subsequently set up a white paper committee to review the recommendations of the various committees. He assured the public that his government would make decisions on the recommendations in due course.
