Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde has been declared as winner of the governorship election in the State.
Makinde was declared as winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission on Sunday.
Announcing the winner in Ibadan, the Returning Officer, Professor Adebayo Simeon Bamire said Makinde gathered 563,756 votes to defeat his closest rival and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Teslim Folarin who has 256,685 votes.
“Than Seyi Makinde, having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest votes is hereby declare the winner and returned elected”, Bamire who is the Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife said.
