Chief Chekwas Okorie, founder and former National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has praised Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the President-Elect, for his victory in the 2023 Nigerian presidential election. Okorie also expressed his joy at the outcome of the presidential and National Assembly polls, stating that a more balanced 10th National Assembly is in the making.
In his statement, Okorie said, “I congratulate Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu on his victory in the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria. The election was fiercely contested, and the use of technology led to a balanced election result, unlike what we used to experience before. The outcome of the election has also produced a more balanced National Assembly. Nigerians should expect a more active and robust 10th National Assembly.”
Okorie urged the President-Elect, who will be inaugurated on May 29, 2023, to take immediate steps to heal the wounds that have caused division, suspicion, and alienation among Nigerian citizens. He added that this is crucial for the success of any policy that the President may propose to develop the economy, create jobs, and provide other benefits to the Nigerian people.
Okorie expressed confidence in Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s political acumen and urged all Nigerians to support him in his effort to tackle the country’s multifaceted challenges. He also called on those who did not support the President-Elect to accept and respect the mandate given to him by the majority of Nigerian voters. Additionally, he encouraged all candidates who may be dissatisfied with the election outcome to use legal means to address their grievances rather than resorting to self-help.
