Adeyemi Adewumi Irekandu, the lawmaker representing Obokun State Constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly, applauded the appellate court’s decision upholding Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke’s landslide victory as the election’s initial winner as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

This was contained in a statement personally signed by the congressman and released to newsmen on Friday, 24th March.

According to the lawmaker, the majority of Osun residents are happy with the decision, which confirmed Senator Adeleke’s victory and provided assurance that ballots truly count.

The legislator expressed his happiness and said the decision was a triumph for the people of Osun, especially those who endured extreme heat to support Senator Ademola Adeleke in the 2022 gubernatorial election.

Irekandu, who referred to the tribunal’s decision as one that was unfair and nearly tarnished the reputation of the judiciary, also expressed his gratitude to the justices of the appeal court for catching the tribunal judges’ glaring mistakes.

In addition, the youthful lawmaker praised the judges’ bravery for rejecting the cross-appeals filed by the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate, Mr Gboyega Oyetola.

“I feel happy and content.” The fact that our lordships discredited the claimed certificate fraud makes me happy. In Osun, joy is abundantly present everywhere. I’m pleased that the court upheld the public’s choice to let reason rule the government’s activities.

I also extend my congratulations to the Peoples governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, his deputy, party leaders, and most importantly, the PDP’s wonderful members.
