Following the crash involving a truck of the Nigerian Correctional Service at Olaiya Flyover in Osogbo, police officers and men of the Department of State Service on Thursday averted crisis at the area.

InsightMedia gathered that a truck of the Ilesa correctional center, while taking some inmates to court hit a mini bus popularly known as Korope.

The driver and other passengers of the mini bus have been taken to hospital for treatment, while the correctional vehicle was allowed to go to court.

A driver who spoke to InsightMedia at the scene said he was one of those that carried the victims to the hospital and that they are responding to treatment.

“I just left hospital. No one is dead. The driver has fracture but he’s responding to treatment.” The driver identified as Wale said.

However, shortly after the vehicle left, some mini bus drivers and motorcycle riders invaded the scene to protest following speculation that the driver has gave up the ghost but policemen led by the Divisional Police Officer of Dugbe Division CSP Akinloye Oyegade were able to avert the crisis.

Normalcy has, however, been restored as at the time of filing this report.
