Professor Adekunle Lawal Oloki, an ex-husband of one of the wives of Ataoja of Osogbo, Olori Adedoyin Oyetunji has said that the only thing he wants is the custody of a daughter between the him and Olori Adedoyin.
Oloki said this on Wednesday when he was at Osun State district customary court, Erin-Osun, for the continuation of hearing on the suit he instituted to fight the custody of the child.
The case was instituted last year.
Oloki said he has not been comfortable with the custody of his daughter not granted, stating that the future of the child is very paramount at to him.
He said, “I have tried all my possible best to reach to people to help talk to the parties (Ataoja and Olori) to let me have access to my child. After all this have failed, I approached this court of competent jurisdiction to seek redress. I want good future for my child. Her future is very paramount to me.
“I flew in from the United States of America to attend this hearing today, but surprisingly they said the presence of my security details cannot allow them continue the hearing. They want the case transferred to Osogbo but I’m against that. We want the case heard here.”
Oloki called on Osogbo elders and Ataoja-in-Council, the Osun State government and other well-meaning Nigerians to appeal to the parties to release the custody of his daughter to him.
He added that, “I’ll soon be petitioning the Osun State Governor, the Osun State House of Assembly and the Inspector General of Police to help intervene in this case.”
Meanwhile the court has adjourned the case to June 21, 2023 as the defence counsel said they cannot continue with the case, citing heavy present of security personnel at the court in instance of the prosecution.
Efforts to speak to Olori Adedoyin and his counsel proved unsuccessful as they declined comment when approached.
