A total of N27, 171, 400 and N21, 900 was retrieved from the victims of the fatal multi-car collision that claimed six lives on Tuesday morning, according to the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, Osun Sector Command.

The N27,171,400 was given to the families of the victims, according to the accident report provided to DAILY POST by Agnes Ogungbemi, the Osun FRSC Sector Public Education Officer, while the N21,900 belonged to the driver and was given to the Nigeria Police, Ijebu-Ijesa Division.

Six people lost their lives in a fatal multi-car collision on Tuesday morning at Iwaraja Junction, according to a story from DAILY POST.

On the Ipetu-Ilesa axis of the Ilesa-Akure expressway, a green Zafira Opel with the registration number GBA440XA and a red Toyota Sienna with the registration number KTU896HX were traveling opposite ways when they collided.

11 men and 3 women were engaged in the collision. Only one individual was unharmed, while six men lost their lives, seven others suffered serious injuries.

“While corpses were placed at the same hospital morgue, the injured victims were transported to Wesley Hospital Ilesa.

“The Nigeria Police Ijebu Ijesa received N21,900 that belonged to the owner of GBA440XA OPEL ZAFIRA. The cars were taken to the station by the Nigerian Police.

She revealed that the victims’ families received the amount of twenty seven million one hundred and seventy one thousand, four hundred Naira (N27,171,400).

Ipetu-Ijesa Unit Commander Bamidele Ayanwale meanwhile urged drivers using the Ipetu-Ijesa route to always practice safety awareness to prevent loss of life and property.
