Governor-elect of Enugu State, Mr Peter Mbah may be on trouble of facing fresh legal hurdle as the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has disowned the discharge certificate he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission to contest the last month governorship election.
INEC had declared Peter Mbah of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) winner of the Enugu State Governorship election beaten his closest rival and candidate of the Labour Party Mr Chijioke Edeoga.
Rumour has rife in the State that Mr Mbah submitted a fake NYSC discharge certificate to INEC as part of his credentials.
The certificate cited by our correspondent shows Mr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah as completing his NYSC in 2003.
But in a response to an enquiry made by Mary Nneoma Elijah on behalf of Omas and Partners, the NYSC said the certificate bearing Peter Ndubuisi Mbah was not issued by the body.
“We are pleased to inform you that the NYSC certificate belonging to Peter Ndubuisi Mbah with certificate number: A808297 forwarded for verification was not issued by the board” the response stated.
