As part of its support to the administration of Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, the Hausa community in Ifon-Osun on Sunday held a special prayer for the Governor.

The prayer, which was held at the Hausa Community Central Mosque, was channeled towards having victory at the Supreme Court in the governorship tussle between the Governor and his predecessor, Adegboyega Oyetola.

Speaking shortly after the prayer, the Sarkin Hausa of Ifon-Orolu, Alhaji Sulaiman Sabo said the Heads of Hausa community are not politicians but they are bound to support to the government of the day.

He said, “we’re gathered here today to pray for our Governor, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke for the court case he has at the Supreme Court. We prayed to Allah to let him come out victorious at court.”

Also present at the prayer session, the PDP Chairman of Hausa Community in Osun State, Ado Garba called on Hausas in Osun to remain calm, stating that they believe that Adeleke will not be be sacked by the court.

“My message for our people is that they should remain calm. We believe that Allah will answer our prayers. They should continue to support the government of the day.”

To Comrade Lukman Akintunde, the Deputy State Youth Leader of the PDP, the prayer in not a response to similar prayer organised by a group in the community for Former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.

Akintunde said “it doesn’t have anything to do with it (the earlier prayers). The person that organised that prayer is just an individual not the Hausa community. If you look at the attendees, you would see that the leaders of Hausa community in Ifon-Osun were not there. All the Sarkins are here. This is their Mosque. So whatever happened in Ifon-Orolu last week was just an individual show.”

Akintunde expressed his belief that Adeleke will win “to continue giving Osun people dividends of democracy as he has started.”

Some of the Hausa community leaders present also aired their support for Adeleke-led PDP government in Osun State.
