The Police Command in Kano State has confirmed the alleged murder of Jummai, who was stabbed by her teenage son, Iro Kwarangwal of Rimin Kebe Quarters in Kano.
The command’s Spokesman, SP Abdullahi Haruna-Kiyawa, who confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano on Thursday, promised to give more details on the incident soon.
Malam Muhammad Abdu, an eyewitness and neighbour to late Jummai, told NAN that the incident occurred on May 3 at about 5:30 pm in the quarters.
“I was standing in front of my house when I heard screaming from the deceased house.
“Upon rushing into the house, we found that the deceased was stabbed severally with knife and screaming for help,” he said.
He said that the suspect fled the scene shortly after he allegedly committed the heinous crime.
“The deceased was rushed to the hospital where she was confirmed dead by a doctor in the hospital,” he said. (NAN)
