Residents of Olodo, Irepodun and Gidigbi Communities off Osunjela area of Osun State, had called on the state Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke to come to their aid concerning 13 years power outage in the communities.
According to Mr. James Aina Olaoluwa, one of the Landlords in the area, said that they have being on the issue of repairing the electricity facilities since 2009 when former governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola was in power.
“We have spent money, time and self to acquire poles and mounting them,” he said.
Narrating the ordeal, representatives three communities said their areas need wire to connect from Abere side and to service the transformer which the Communities were using before the light problem started.
Similarly, the leadership of these Communities appreciated Governor Adeleke for the construction of a bridge linking the area to Osogbo.
“We appreciated people’s governor for the construction of the bridge which is almost completed for the use of the Communities. But, we are pleading with the governor to help us solve this lingering light issue as money to procure wire to the poles bought with our money, servicing the transformer and workmanship to IBDEC staff which will connect the light are the major challenges on their way to resolve the thirteen years power outage problem in the area.”
