The National Council for Women Societies, Osun State Chapter, has called on Governor Ademola Adeleke to ensure inclusion of women in his administration.

Addressing newsmen in Osogbo on Wednesday, Dr. Adeola Ayoola, President NCWS, Osun State Chapter, said they want Adeleke to give women 35 percent inclusion in his administration.

Speaking further, Dr. Ayoola added that the aim of the society is to ensure that women are well recognized in the society.

“We want Adeleke to make women the commissioners in the Ministries of Education, Finance, Budget and Planning, Women, Children and Social Affairs”

“We’re not fighting with men over roles and responsibilities, we’re only trying to extricate cultural beliefs that undermine our capabilities, also to prepare for climate environmental degradation, health issues.

“The Gender Inclusion Movement driven by Sustainable Development Goal Number Five (SDG 5) of the United Nations, recognises and focuses a critical strategy for achieving meaningful and enduring people centred development.

“Women are specialised in all fields because Organization, Society are not complete with women” Dr. Ayoola concluded.

Chief Mrs Olaleye Janet, National Public Relations Officer for Nigeria Women Farmers, pleaded with the Federal Government to give 35 percent affirmative given to women at the Federal level, adding that men should not occupy women positions in governance.

The goal five of the SDGs – Gender Equality – mandates governments at the local level to end all forms of discrimination against women girl child everywhere.

It also calls authority to “ensure women’s full and effective participation and equal opportunity for leadership at all levels of decision-making in political, economic and public life.”
