As part of several activities lined up for the valedictory programme of the immediate past lawmaker representing Osogbo/Olorunda/Irepodun/Orolu Federal Constituency, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo, the Ifon-Orolu Progressive Union (IPU) will as a prelude hold a press conference and reception on Saturday, July 1, 2023.
In order to have a robust and remarkable ceremony, the leadership of the socio-cultural group, has invited government officials, political leaders and members of the public to grace the occasion scheduled to take place at the Ifon-Osun Town Hall, Obada area, Ifon-Osun.
The valedictory session is meant to celebrate the remarkable strides of Hon. Olubukola Oyewo, who represented Osogbo Federal Constituency in the 9th House of Representatives.
Hon. Oyewo’s legislative agenda was built on a tripod with focus on infrastructure development, education and economic growth, which were designed to achieve a revitalized and reinvigorated constituency.
The APC chieftain’s people-centered framework has brought about meaningful and impactful grassroots development. Despite the short duration, he successfully touched all local government areas of the constituency he represented with choice projects.
During his four years in office, infrastructure received the desired attention, especially roads, water supply, classroom blocks, public sanitary facilities, drainage channels, flood/erosion control systems and healthcare .
The grassroots politician made giant strides in providing good road networks to towns and rural areas, especially farming communities in his constituency. Several kilometers of roads have been constructed to link many neighborhoods in the hinterlands. Residents of some villages and towns that never dreamt of having asphalted roads can now smile.
Oyewo has been applauded by many political observers in Osun and beyond for ensuring prompt completion of most of the projects he initiated. These include the completion of farm access road at Dagbolu (Olorunda LGA), road construction at Isokan Oluwa Community (Olorunda LGA), road rehabilitation at Faremi Street in Iludun (Olorunda LGA), Irepodun Street off Agowande (Olorunda LGA), Spur to Jamb Center road (Oṣogbo LGA), thoroughfare linking Orolu and Irepodun, 1-kilometer Ifon to Ikunsin road(Orolu LGA), farm access road at Molufon area (Orolu LGA), erosion control system at Elentere River (Orolu LGA), and drainage channel/erosion control system at Oke Alafia (Orolu LGA).
Other major projects in the area include the construction of a drainage channel and erosion control system at Ageri-Emu road in Erin-Osun(Irepodun LGA), erosion and flood control at Awesin River(Irepodun LGA), among others.
He has also been commended by major stakeholders in Osogbo/Olorunda/Irepodun/Orolu Federal Constituency for prioritizing human empowerment and support for small-scale businesses. Youths, women, and petty traders have benefited immensely from various economic empowerment schemes sponsored by the former federal legislator.
Through these achievements, Oyewo has now set a remarkable record in the number of projects initiated by any political representative in the history of the territory.
Hon. Olubukola Oyewo is a staunch supporter of President Bola Tinubu and an advocate of a truly united Osun APC.
