In a recent interview with ESPN, Christian Pulisic revealed his sentiments about his time at Chelsea, expressing his wish for more opportunities to prove himself at the Premier League club.
The American winger’s comments came shortly after he finalized his move to Italian giants AC Milan on Thursday, signing a four-year contract with the Serie A side.
Pulisic’s departure from Chelsea marks the end of his stint with the London club, which began with his high-profile €64 million transfer from Borussia Dortmund in 2019. During his time at Stamford Bridge, the 23-year-old player showcased his skills and contributed significantly to the team’s success, scoring a total of 26 goals in 145 appearances across four seasons.
When asked by ESPN if he believed he could have been given more opportunities to establish himself as a key player at Chelsea, Pulisic responded,
“Of course. I’d like to think so. Of course, there are definitely times where I wish I could’ve gotten more of an opportunity and been that guy.”
Despite expressing his desire for more game time, Pulisic remained optimistic and emphasized his excitement for the fresh challenge awaiting him in Milan.
“But yeah, for whatever reason, that’s not the case, and like I said, I’m just so excited for this new challenge and I’m definitely ready and up for it,” he added.
